A bump on the gums can be called an abscess, and the main cause behind the problem is bacteria. This bacterium can be associated with plaque, particles of food, or tooth decay. In some cases, a boil may be a sign of oral cancer. A lot of times, lumps are caused by poor oral hygiene, which means it can be resolved with better oral health habits. This means regular brushing and flossing, and regular professional cleanings to make sure you mouth stays as healthy as possible.
Symptoms Associated with Lumps
Some symptoms associated with lumps on the gum may include bleeding, bad breath, pus discharge, swollen gums, earaches, nausea, fever or fatigue, and sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures. Some of these symptoms can be associated with serious concerns, while other times these symptoms may be nothing to worry about, but it does not hurt to get checked out to eliminate any concern.
