![]() Prevention FirstPreventing problems will end up saving you the most money in the long run. If you aim to prevent issues from arising, you will be much more likely to avoid even having to think about stressful dental issues. Prevention is also generally the easiest thing to do, but it's one downfall is it is the most boring. The biggest influence you can have on your oral health is accomplished by brushing at least twice a day and flossing at least once a day. If you add rinsing your mouth out after eating into the mix, you have a pretty solid prevention plan. The goal is to remove decay causing bacteria and food particles from your mouth regularly. If they are allowed to buildup, they can spread. Mouth GuardsMost people don't consider mouth guards when they are trying to cut the cost of their dental bills, but they should! Sports and other physical activities are responsible for a tremendous amount of teeth related trauma. In fact, the Journal of the American Dental Association has reported that somewhere between 13-39% of all dental injuries occur during sports.Regular CheckupsNever overlook your regular dental cleanings an examinations! During these visits your teeth are brought back to square one, and given a clean bill of health. Your dentist can also make you aware of any issues that may have arisen since your last visit. If you have a weak spot in a tooth that could potentially turn into a cavity, you will be made aware of it, and you will have a chance to prevent it from becoming another expensive bill! Please contact us if you have any questions about your oral health. |
